The Sound Of Magic

"Love is something you can't define. If you can describe it, it isn't love. It's something else."

A story of a magician and a girl who wants to be a grown-up as soon as possible. Because she thinks that if she becomes an adult, her problems will fade away. I see their (the magician and the girl) relationship as that kind of love and respect. Ryu Min Hyuk had the power to make Ah Yi believe in magic. And from the start, he knew that she would believe in him no matter what. He didn't treat her friends the way he cared for Ah Yi. We seek for love and care.

Ah Yi had to act like an elder sister even though she was a minor in the eyes of society. She had no choice as her parents left them alone. The love that her parents couldn't give her, the magician filled that void place. Even though people called him a crazy person, he was the one who showed them what they couldn't do. They didn't care for those two girls who lived alone without parents. They asked for money for their rent when they knew clearly about Ah Yi's situation. Ah Yi was comforted by his magic. Even if it's false, Ah Yi found her life meaningful.

I don't know where the magician goes at the end. But the moral of the story was- "We need only one person to believe in us, give us a helping hand when needed most." That's what the magician also asked from Ah Yi, to believe in him no matter what others say. Ah Yi needed a person who could bring her out of her miserable life. Ryu Min Hyuk turned her life upside down. He changed the point of view of Ah Yi on her life. When things get tough, we should look at it from the other side. We always tend to see the negative impacts of every situation. But if we change our point of view, it can get easy for us. That's what the magician taught us through his magic.

This drama is not where you can believe in magic but a place for you to heal emotionally. There are a lot of life lessons in this drama.

  • For example - The asphalt road all the teenagers follow to achieve their dreams.
  • There's no rule on how to live one's life.
  • We are not crazy. This world is not a liveable place after all.
  • And we should not always focus on our career or study, remember that we have a life to live. Not a path to follow.

A place where you can forget all your problems is - "Annarasumanara" (The Sound Of Magic).

P.S: I started watching kdramas in 2020 and created an account on MDL (MyDramaList) on May 13,2021. That is today. And I don't remember the particular date when I started watching dramas. So, it's a special day for me. As a one-year anniversary, I wanted to post this. It may not be the best writing, but I will try harder next time. THANK YOU!!

And don't forget to smile :)
